Services

Initial Consultation & Treatment
An initial consultation is necessary for new patients to our clinic. Once we have had a chat with you and taken full details of your foot health, medical history and personal concerns; we can then complete any general podiatry treatment you may need and/or discuss a further treatment plan going forward. Initial consultation can also include the diagnosis and treatment of ingrowing toenails and assessment for nail surgery.
Musculoskeletal/Sports Assessment with Gait Analysis

A physical examination will assess your current joint range of motion and determine any abnormalities in your foot posture.
Our state-of-the-art pressure mat technology creates a dynamic 3D image of the maximal pressure areas in the feet when they are weight-bearing, showing the centre of pressures and gait line. By simply standing and walking across the mat we can measure the static, dynamic and postural pressures and forces placed upon the feet. Using this analysis alongside our clinical observations we can detect discrepancies to make the most accurate orthotics if required.

General Podiatry
General podiatry services include (but are not limited to); nail cutting, corn and callous removal, reduction of thickened and fungal nails, treatment plans and topical recommendations for fungal infections of the skin, diagnosis and treatment of ingrowing toenails and assessment for nail surgery, home care advice and referrals.
Nail Surgery
Nail surgery is needed when toenails are infected and painful. The main cause of infection is due to the toenail becoming ingrown. Ingrown toenails are caused by the way your foot functions as well as a family history of ingrown toenails. The problem can be further exacerbated by incorrect nail cutting.
Nail surgery is performed under local anasethtic and consists of removing either one or both sides of your toenail, or if necessary the whole nail.
Once the surgery is complete, a chemical will be applied to the nail bed before your toe is dressed. This will prevent re-growth of the nail, or the part of the nail that has been removed. You will be given post-operative care advice and be required to return to the clinic within 3-5 days of the surgery for an inclusive check up.
Diabetic Assessment
Diabetes may affect your feet in a number of ways. One of the early changes can be loss of sensation (peripheral neuropathy) in your feet, often starting at the toes. During a diabetic assessment, we will ask specific questions and use special tools to assess neuropathy.
Everyone who has diabetes should also have their feet checked regularly with a healthcare professional (podiatrist, nurse or doctor) and at the very least once a year at their annual review. However, if you are at increased risk of complications, these inspections may be done more frequently.
